FARS NEWS AGENCY - Tehran

Fars News Agency is an Iranian news organization that is largely seen as being connected to the government. It provides news in Persian, English, Turkish, and Arabic and does not appear to have any advertising. It is usually referred to as a "semi-official" news agency by news outlets such as CNN and Reuters. The Wall Street Journal has reported that it is linked to the Revolutionary Guard Corps. The managing director, Saeid Noubari, previously served as the head of the Tehran Justice Department’s PR office, and the managing editor, Mehdi Fazaeli, is also the spokesman of the Association of Muslim Journalists in Iran.
